\"\"<\/a>Then, these buses began to move out one after the other.\u00c2\u00a0 It was quite a sight.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Aww, daddy and daughters posing for Nettie.\u00c2\u00a0 Ain’t it sweet?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We were just getting ready to head back the way we came when — Hey! Whoa!\u00c2\u00a0 Are those balloons?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Very cool. :-)\u00c2\u00a0 So glad we got to see them go up!\u00c2\u00a0 After that, we headed back.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>And on the way, we saw some birdies.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>And the beautifully green fields along the canal.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Jacob, who had been lagging behind all day, was motivated to run far ahead of us all just so he could sit under the bridge and wait for us for a while.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>And a few more birdies, before I put my camera away for the day.<\/p>\n

It was a very fun, if frigid, New Year’s Day hike, with lots of beautiful nature to enjoy with the family, and some surprises to boot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
