Last weekend, to finish out our two weeks with no girlies, Paul and Jacob and I took a little quickie-trip up to the ranch.\u00a0 We left town in the middle of rush hour, so of course we arrived in the dark – yet even just by the light of the headlamps, I could see the monsoon rains had done great work.\u00a0 I felt terrible driving over flowering weed bushes growing in the center of the driveway.\u00a0 I tried to make sure I didn’t hit them with the wheels and hoped they would spring back up.\u00a0 When we got up to the cabin, I was stopped short from proceeding up the driveway by a virtual wall of growth, and ended up finding a path of least resistance by looping around the left side of the sink.\u00a0 I know, I know, I’m a kook.\u00a0 But it’s been such a long dry season, and I didn’t have the heart to blast through all that loveliness.\u00a0 We were up early the next morning to see the sun rise on the green valley, and I got out my macro lens in hopes of snapping a pic or two before the inevitable wind started up.\u00a0 What a difference a month of rain makes in the high dessert!<\/p>\n
