see something you have never explored.\u00a0 On our way back down the mountain after our hike, we were pleasantly relaxing our weary climbing legs, drinking the last dregs of water from the provisions we&#8217;d brought along, when we came upon a road sign indicating the way to Mexican Hay Lake.<\/p>\n<p>[hr color=&#8221;dark-gray&#8221; width=&#8221;100%&#8221; border_width=&#8221;2px&#8221; ]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/MexicanHayLakecopy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium hubby, being the sort he is, turned off the highway with no warning, leading to a chorus of exclamatory wonderings as to his intention.\u00a0 He then proceeded to describe this place, which is lovely and lush in the rainy season:<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/MexicanHayLake2webcopy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9217 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 9px solid black; margin: 9px;\" alt=\"MexicanHayLake2webcopy\" src=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/MexicanHayLake2webcopy-1066x800.jpg\" width=\"746\" height=\"566\" \/><\/a><\/center><center>[hr color=&#8221;dark-gray&#8221; width=&#8221;100%&#8221; border_width=&#8221;2px&#8221; ]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">However,\u00a0 as indicated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hookedaz.com\/Lakes-of-Arizona-A-Z\/mexican-hay-lake-arizona.html\">here<\/a>, during the dry seasons and periods of drought, it is likely to be much more barren.\u00a0 Such was the case when we turned down the road on our little explore &#8212; but we were beyond delighted to find, before we could even get close to the lake itself, these beautiful inhabitants of the area, camouflaged by the dun colored grasses.\u00a0 Paul quickly grabbed my camera and took some wonderful shots as they first peered at us, then took off at a gentle run till they reached the dry bed of the lake beyond the trees, where they felt safe enough to stop again.\u00a0 It was delightful to watch these six full-grown antelope in motion!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">[hr
