{"id":8323,"date":"2013-01-15T19:51:31","date_gmt":"2013-01-16T02:51:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nettiesworld.com\/?p=8323"},"modified":"2017-06-28T22:32:26","modified_gmt":"2017-06-29T05:32:26","slug":"tuesday-was-a-doozy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.adoptedjoy.com\/?p=8323","title":{"rendered":"Tuesday Was a Doozy."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What\u2026 a\u2026. day\u2026\u2026..<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As per usual on a therapy day, everybody came along when we left the house at 8:20 so we could prove once again what incredible multitaskers we are by doing car school during the 9am appointment.\u00a0 That went as well as it could go, and Mum and Megan were on their way out to the van right on schedule at 10am.<\/li>\n<li>On the way home from PT, we looped up 35th avenue to the Kirby store to drop off the vacuum cleaner for repair \u2013 it hasn\u2019t worked right since we moved back into the house over a year ago, and we\u2019re only now getting around to actually doing something about it.\u00a0 One CAN use a broom on carpet, in a pinch, and we have learned to make do.\u00a0 But it\u2019s time to get it fixed.\u00a0 And for the price we are going to pay, it better suck the snot out of those carpets!\u00a0 (Not that there\u2019s snot on the carpets\u2026)<\/li>\n<li>Then we made a quick stop for a QT lunch for Jacob, Geneva and Oma, cuz it&#8217;s shopping day and we&#8217;re kinda low on supplies, and so they could go home and eat and be done with their running around.<\/li>\n<li>THEN, Megan and I headed over to pick up Katrina at 11:30, and we had ourselves some yummy Jack\u2019s, and then at last we arrived at our ultimate destination \u2013 Wal Mart.\u00a0 I had a full grocery\/household supply trip to accomplish, and Megan and Katrina had their own cart to fill up \u2013 Katrina had been robbed over the weekend of literally everything she owned by a deranged lunatic, so we had the joy of taking her shopping!\u00a0 Two hours later, we were in line to check out \u2013 and it took 40 minutes for three carts (although we were behind what looked like a couple of homeschooling families like ours \u2013 and may I just say, the matching pouffy up-dos on the mother-daughter team in front of us?\u00a0 Awesome!!!).\u00a0 That may be the longest I have waited in a checkout line that was not during the Christmas season at Fry\u2019s Electronics.\u00a0 TOTALLY worth it though \u2013 knowing \u2018Trina was able to replace most of what had been stolen from her!\u00a0 God is good!<\/li>\n<li>Left Wal-mart at 2:30, took &#8216;Trina home, arrived back at ye olde domicile around 3:30, and began the unloading and pantry re-boot.\u00a0 (I love mason jars!\u00a0 And beans.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/?attachment_id=8329\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8329\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8329 aligncenter\" alt=\"20130115_072117copy\" src=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/20130115_072117copy-351x400.jpg\" width=\"351\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/old.adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/20130115_072117copy-351x400.jpg 351w, https:\/\/old.adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/20130115_072117copy-157x180.jpg 157w, https:\/\/old.adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/20130115_072117copy-702x800.jpg 702w, https:\/\/old.adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/20130115_072117copy-200x227.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 351px) 100vw, 351px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supper was a quick warmup of leftovers (turkey, veggies, and brown rice) and was greatly enhanced (as was our general amusement) with Megan and her Pa seeing how much of the deceptively-named \u201cCreamy Horseradish Sauce \u2013 Wasabi\u201d and very aptly-named \u201cExtra Hot Horseradish\u201d they could handle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/51LhkbDg%2BwL._SL500_AA300_PIbundle-9,TopRight,0,0_AA300_SH20_.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Wasabi Horseradish!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/beavertonfoods.com\/images\/b_8-5ozGlassHorseradish.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Extra Hot Horseradish!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>With all that WAS accomplished today, I am still put out that for the second day in a row I have called the orthodontist only to find that they were closed for the afternoon.\u00a0 What is UP with people only working in the mornings?? Jake has lost his retainers.\u00a0 Believe me, we\u2019ve torn the house apart.\u00a0 I\u2019m of the opinion that Gwinnie stole them off the bathroom counter and chewed them to smithereens.\u00a0 In any case, Boom \u2013 another $150!\u00a0<em> ((shakes head sadly\u2026))<\/em><\/li>\n<li>I am now off to help my son find the hidden sunshine in multiplication.\u00a0 He has one more problem to finish before a) he can go back to playing Minecraft, b) his father gets home from SVdP, or in the extreme case, c) bedtime.<\/li>\n<li>I don\u2019t know when I will get another chance to do any recording, but I\u2019m not too disappointed with how my first round of podcasts turned out.\u00a0 I think I like <a href=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/?podcast=be-thou-my-vision\"><em><strong>Be Thou My Vision<\/strong><\/em><\/a> the best of my imperfect efforts thus far.\u00a0 My next project will be some Shakespeare recitation I think.\u00a0 I need to do an <em>homage<\/em> to my all-time goddess of theater, Emma Thompson.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What\u2026 a\u2026. day\u2026\u2026..
