{"id":5189,"date":"2012-10-01T10:34:04","date_gmt":"2012-10-01T17:34:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nettiesworld.com\/?p=5189"},"modified":"2017-06-28T22:39:25","modified_gmt":"2017-06-29T05:39:25","slug":"the-writing-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.adoptedjoy.com\/?p=5189","title":{"rendered":"The Writing Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>He sits at his computer and puts on his headphones (just to block out noise, he&#8217;s not listening to any music).<\/p>\n<p>He looks at the screen for a while, looks at his keyboard; gnaws on the headphone cord, and then his face begins to animate with eagerness and anticipatory glee; he begins to shake his hands a little, kick his feet a little, and then the fingers start tapping at the keyboard.<\/p>\n<p>Just when I&#8217;m sure he&#8217;s on a roll, he leaves his desk and wanders off to pace the entry way&#8230; toe walking back and forth, shaking his hands and now and then stopping to hop up and down.<\/p>\n<p>I ask if he&#8217;s finished with his assignment, and he says &#8220;Oh yeah!\u00a0 I forgot.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And heads back to the desk.<\/p>\n<p>Repeat 20 times, with additional interludes for lengthy tangential descriptions (verbal) of ideas only peripherally related to the topic of his writing assignment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/?attachment_id=5192\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5192\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5192 aligncenter\" title=\"20120930_214403copy\" src=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/20120930_214403copy-450x260.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>He sits at his computer and puts on his headphones (just to block out noise, he&#8217;s not listening to any music).
