We’ve almost made it, just one last sprint and the month, and school year – will be finished!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me reprise to catch us up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The merry month of May started out with happy little students heading into their final stretch of the school year.<\/p>\n\n\n

Unfortunately, that bliss did not last long before we had three kiddos in crisis, and then I ended up in the hospital for a short little stint of IV antibiotics in the second week. (Which, let me tell you, only added to the chaos…)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But then there was a weekend full of celebration, and while there were some emotional struggles on several fronts during that weekend (I wont deny I had a LOT of feelings) it was good to be together, with Ana, with Grandma, and with the two birthday peeps – Efrain and Geneva, lifelong birthday buddies! <\/p>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n\n\n\n

The third week was all anticipation for Ruben as he prepared for his stage debut – the Kindergarten Spring Concert! Oh was he excited, and oh, did he and his class deliver on the day. I think you had to be family to truly appreciate the whole spectacle, but objectively speaking, I was impressed with the Great Hearts music faculty and their ability to bring these little noobs to the point of singing their hearts out, in tune for the most part, knowing all the words to all the songs down cold, and keeping excellent performance discipline (mostly – barring that one who just wandered off the stage at one point, and that other one who chose to sing with his hand on his neighbor’s head). As a mom, I found it delightful.<\/p>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_1_placeholder\n\n\n\n

We’re down to finals week, getting those last projects handed in, and then it’s Jordan’s 8th grade promotion, and we’re done! I’m only sorry Xavier has to miss his promotion, as he is still under care and will be for at least another month. We miss him greatly and are desperate for him to come home. But in the meantime, we are celebrating Jordan’s accomplishments because he has worked incredibly hard, gotten straight A’s, done extremely well in his first time as a track and field athlete, and all that without missing a day of school.
