Today we all got up verrrrrry early so that we could be ready and out the door to arrive at church around 6:30a.m. in time for the 7a.m. mass. As always, I took a song sheet on the way in before I remembered, after getting situated at our pew, that the early mass is a low mass, meaning no music. So, instead of perusing the propers, I put the pointless paper in the pew so I could prepare for mass with prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a beautiful homily about the prodigal son, followed by holy Eucharist, we left refreshed and stopped at McD’s for a quick breakfast before zipping home (via QT because the van was on about 1\/8th of a tank, and while there we educated the children on the vasty sums of money we are currently pouring into our tank every time we fill up… their eyeballs grew very round as they watched the numbers go up, and were well and truly disgusted and vowed never to drive a big van.) where Paul and the kids changed clothes, grabbed some cameras, and jumped back in the van to go on an excursion to the Phoenix Zoo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, you know how much fun I would have had at the zoo with my camera… but since I require the wheelchair, and can’t sit in it for too very long before the discomfort is too much for me, I let them go without me, but with strict admonitions that “more is more” when it comes to photos, and I wanted LOTS of pics when they returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Well, it might not have been LOTS, but Natalie (with a Rebel T5i) and Paul (with my 6D Mark II) both did a good job capturing the sights, and I had my own kind of fun post processing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
