Today we had an extra student in the Heidmann Academy.
\nLisa joined us in the morning,
\nand even spent some quality time studying from the highly recommended book,
\nUnderstanding the Scriptures<\/a><\/em>
\nby Scott Hahn<\/a>,
\nfrom the Didache Series<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Since it has also been used for some of our lessons in RCIA, it will be very helpful for Lisa to go through and really delve deeper into the Word.
\nLaurent was reading from the Bible today as well, but her assignment,
\nthe book of Genesis,
\nwas actually part of her Great Books Discussions curriculum.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Also studiously working away at the table was Megan,
\ntaking notes on
\nEarth Science<\/a>,
\nwith her Algebra 1<\/a>
\nwaiting patiently in the wings.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Geneva spent a lengthy and very annoying period working on her Language Arts.\u00c2\u00a0 We used the Lifepac<\/a> series for several years, and are finishing up the last few volumes before making the switch back to a more
\nClassical Homeschooling<\/a> approach.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Jacob was much more interested in reading this chapter on
\nthe First Written Records<\/em>
\nfrom
\nThe History Of The Ancient World<\/a>
\nthan he was in the writing assignment that followed it.<\/p>\n

\ntonight I finally finished Lisa’s graduation present,
\nthe

\nafghan.
\nI chose this color scheme for Lisa because I know her well,
\nand as precious a gem as she is,
\nonly jewel tones suffice to express her vivacity.
