We found out there had been some early morning drama at the hotel. Grandma had taken a wrong step in the dark on her way into the bathroom and had a fall that banged her up pretty badly. She decided, wisely, to take the day to rest and recover while we went ahead up into the mountains for our hike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our first stop was Pole Knoll, a favorite up in the pines with an easy trail and room to run, along with a nice picnic area. Since one child was having some behavioral issues, I sent the camera along with the others while I sat at the picnic area with my buddy.
