It’s a little bit crazy town around here right now, is all I can say.<\/p>\n
Last night I spent some time gathering data to create my “Google Calendar” for the year.\u00a0 I have now got 29 entries per week for the first semester… that I know of.\u00a0 We have never been this busy!\u00a0 This will either be a wonderful, challenging growth experience, or my ticket to a padded cell.<\/p>\n
We just stopped by the house tonight to see the newly installed windows, completely enclosed office, and the framing for the kitchen and master bedroom.\u00a0\u00a0 And I was shocked to discover a wall where I had not expected to see one.\u00a0 I am trying to remain calm, but the problem is, nobody was able to explain to me when I was “giving my approval” to the plans, what exactly I was looking at, and I would not have approved this wall.\u00a0 Now that the city has already signed off on the plans, I don’t know if it can be changed.\u00a0 I dearly hope so.\u00a0 If not I will simply have to adjust my mental picture of the house… but I cannot tell a lie: this is really messing with my feng shui.<\/p>\n
I also had a talk with our contractor today (before seeing the house tonight) and found out that a significant part of my kitchen cabinetry cannot be built as planned, which would reduce my storage by about half.\u00a0 The good news is I will be talking to Cabinet Guy on Friday, and hopefully I will be able to resolve that problem by installing some built in cabinets along the wall where we used to have the silver pantry shelves (remember the yellow wall<\/a>?\u00a0 Wouldn’t built-ins look pretty there?\u00a0 We’ll see – that may be too expensive, in which case, back go the silver shelves.).<\/p>\n Geneva and Megan have begun their new theater season – first rehearsals were today.\u00a0 The air was rife with words like “epic” and “awesome” and “amazing” and “brilliant” as we drove home…<\/p>\n With all the girls out of the house on Wednesdays, Jacob and I have time to work with a little more focus.\u00a0 It’s been fun this week because I’m giving him a break from math, and he’s been reading some church history, learning about the ancient heresies, such as Arianism<\/a>, Nestorianism<\/a>, and Monophysitism<\/a>.\u00a0 He’s got a pretty good handle on nutshelling them already… he’ll get to learn more detail in a couple of years when he gets to start History of the Church<\/a>.<\/p>\n
