{"id":2642,"date":"2011-08-23T00:01:54","date_gmt":"2011-08-23T07:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nettiesworld.com\/?p=2642"},"modified":"2017-06-28T23:25:16","modified_gmt":"2017-06-29T06:25:16","slug":"milestone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.adoptedjoy.com\/?p=2642","title":{"rendered":"Milestone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is appropriate, as the years go by, that certain milestones, or momentous achievements, are duly noted.\u00a0 Today one such milestone was achieved.<\/p>\n<p>As I pulled up to the curb at Glendale Community College, I said &#8220;Goodbye sweetie!\u00a0 Have a great time!&#8221; and watched my oldest child heft her backpack into place, and turn to stride\u00a0 purposefully away, eyes bright, grinning into the future.\u00a0 I inched the car forward, craning to watch her in the rearview mirror as I turned around the corner, and suddenly caught my breath as the tears welled up.\u00a0 I was unprepared for emotion to hit with such force.\u00a0 As I rolled toward the exit, her entire 16 years of life flashed before my eyes from which the tears freely fell, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude.\u00a0 Gratitude for the time we have had together by God&#8217;s grace, and for the competent, confident young lady she has become &#8211; again, all by God&#8217;s grace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/2011\/08\/23\/milestone\/honors\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2643\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2643\" title=\"Honors\" src=\"http:\/\/adoptedjoy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Honors-261x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"261\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a>Thanks be to God.\u00a0\u00a0 As your father and I have always prayed, so we continue:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>God make you a blessing, wherever He sends you.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is appropriate, as the years go by, that certain milestones, or momentous achievements, are duly noted.\u00a0 Today one such milestone was achieved.
