What do I feel?\u00a0 I feel proud of her accomplishments and determination.\u00a0 I feel so grateful for the years we have had with her at home, watching her grow, watching her soak up knowledge like a sponge, wondering what God had in store for her future, but knowing it must be grand.\u00a0 I feel like all my intuitions about her abilities have finally been validated.\u00a0 You always wonder, is it just me?\u00a0 Am I biased because she’s my daughter, my first-born?\u00a0 Because we live in a state with minimal home-schooling regulation, the ACT and her college placement tests were the first objective evaluations she’s had.<\/p>\n
Apparently, it wasn’t just me!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
I also feel a touch of anxiety about what is in store for her as she enters a secular college at a younger age than most of her classmates.\u00a0 I am absolutely confident that she is\u00a0 intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually mature enough to handle what’s coming, but it will be a new challenge.\u00a0 And she needs the challenge.\u00a0 That’s how we grow, right?\u00a0 She’s going to grow so much in the next couple of years!!<\/p>\n
We’ve been looking at the list of student organizations, and it’s great to see several Christian groups, like Students For Life<\/a> and\u00a0 the Newman Club are active on campus.\u00a0 She’s also looking forward to joining\u00a0 Phi Theta Kappa<\/a>.\u00a0 She may have to be selective with the extra-curriculars until she finds out how demanding her course work will be.<\/p>\n Anyway… now that the whirlwind is subsiding, I am peacefully, and joyfully contemplating the fact that one phase of life is now completed.\u00a0 Another just beginning.<\/p>\n
