One of the unavoidable facts of ranch life is good old fashioned work.\u00c2\u00a0 There is always something that needs doing, and it usually involves significant energy output.\u00c2\u00a0 (And possibly $$.)\u00c2\u00a0 This trip being no exception, there was plenty to keep the men and boys busy.\u00c2\u00a0 Sometime during this winter season, our water pipe that runs down the hill from the tank to the sink burst due to the freeze.\u00c2\u00a0 Part of the reason for that was that Paul had dug too shallow a trench for the pipe the first time around.\u00c2\u00a0 So on this trip, he needed to dig up the old pipe, dig a deeper trench, and lay new pipe.\u00c2\u00a0 In this gallery you see the beginnings of this job, with which, I cannot fail to mention, Geneva helped in every way she could, as well as Jacob’s work, clearing tumbleweeds that had accumulated against the side of the quonset.\u00c2\u00a0 (There will be more on the subject of tumbleweeds later.)\u00c2\u00a0 Also a few pretty shots of morning light upon the golden grass.\u00c2\u00a0 Also a few shots of Geneva talking on the phone to her cousin (there was quite a bit of that this weekend as well).\u00c2\u00a0 Also a random pic of the cow skull beside the cabin… just because… it’s there.\u00c2\u00a0 And one photo of the most important part of the day: coffee!<\/p>\n
