{"id":11024,"date":"2014-11-24T18:52:12","date_gmt":"2014-11-25T01:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nettiesworld.com\/?p=11024"},"modified":"2017-06-28T21:20:25","modified_gmt":"2017-06-29T04:20:25","slug":"surprise-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.adoptedjoy.com\/?p=11024","title":{"rendered":"Surprise Party!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some parties are long expected, some parties are unexpected, and others are just kind of thrown together at the last minute. \u00a0Sunday we had one of the thrown-together-at-the-last-minute type &#8212; at least, for an occasion as momentous as my mother&#8217;s 75th birthday, I would call 2 days planning rather last-minute.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, we managed to find a few people who did not have prior commitments, and with lots of assistance from my eldest daughter, I was able to get a special menu prepared. Mom has been craving soup lately, so we made two big roasters filled with a couple of her favorites &#8211; potato-sausage, and tomato hamburger, both with an Italian twist. Other than that we kept it simple, with a tray of Costco croissant sandwiches and\u00a0one of their\u00a0nice big mousse-filled cakes.<\/p>\n<p>The surprise was a success, and she really enjoyed our time of fellowship with our wonderful Jezek family.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Birthday, dear Mama!!
