It’s been a bit raucous around here this evening — that is, it seemed so when I arrived home around 8:30 with Megan and Mother, having spent the first part of the evening enjoying a concert by 150 phenomenally talented musicians out in the western west-valley at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where they were celebrating their 10th anniversary. Geneva’s piano instructor, William Buthod<\/a>, is their associate music director, and invited us, and I’m so glad he did. \u00a0What a beautiful church – and huge! Wow. \u00a0I had no idea it was the largest Catholic church in the southwest!<\/p>\n

I came home to find Geneva with \u00a0Glory, Faith, and Annie Jezek, making the kind of hullabaloo that only teenage girls are capable of creating — and Beedo running around making his usual two-year-old din, and Jacob and Peter back in the office watching something on the computer. \u00a0Megan’s arrival only cranked the volume higher. \u00a0Whew!<\/p>\n

Things have calmed down now, since Beedo is in bed, and the older kids are all watching “Princess Bride”. \u00a0But in the middle of all the craziness of course there was some music-making going on, and when Laurent started singing one of her Celtic songs, “I am the Voice”, I had the presence of mind to prop my iPad up and do a little recording. Do excuse the fuzzy picture – I am sure I did something wrong somewhere along the way – but the sound is not too bad for an impromptu performance in the midst of a slumber party. \u00a0Enjoy! \u00a0(Some time I’ll have to get a proper recording – with accompaniment! I’m told there’s a violin solo that goes with this…)<\/p>\n
